REQUIREMENTS: Be at least (18) years of age.
Be a high school graduate, or hold the equivalency of one.
4 Hours Per Day
LOCATION: Erial Elementary School
DATES: September 2024 to June 2025
SALARY:
LEVEL 1- High School Diploma -$16.00 per hour
LEVEL 2 - Passing Score on Para-Pro Assessment - $16.50 per hour
LEVEL 3 - Associates Degree or 60 college credits - $17.50 per hour
LEVEL 4 - Bachelor's Degree or Higher - $18.50 per hour

Job Description
PARAEDUCATOR - (One-on-One Aide)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Be a high school graduate, or hold the equivalency of one.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Closely observe your one-on-one student because when IEP meetings are held, your input on the students is important. Respect students’ confidentiality.
- Assist student(s) in the classroom for example: hand over hand for handwriting, make sure the student is focused during circle time to limit behaviors so that the circle time can run smoothly and effectively.
- Supervise and assist the special area teacher if needed.
- After each activity you will help in the process of clean up in the least amount of time so that the next activity can be started effectively and quickly.
- Assist student(s) with toileting/dressing if needed.
- Assist student(s) with feeding if needed.
- Supervise cafeteria and recess to supervise the needs of the student(s).
- Supervise student(s) in teacher planned activities.
- Prepare instruction materials. (art materials).
- Help to keep student(s) on task for the programs taught by the teacher.
- Supervise and assist students when included in the general education classroom.
- Provided clerical assistance (duplicate materials)
- Reinforcing appropriate behavior in accordance with the teacher’s plan.
- Listen and read to students.
- Maintaining a positive attitude.
- Assisting in teaching in the classroom. (small groups, one-on-one instruction)
COMPENSATION: To be determined by the Board.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 Months
VACATION: There is no vacation time allotted to this position.
EVALUATION:
To be evaluated semi-annually in accordance with the Board’s policy on
evaluation of personnel.
